Delegates for this year`s Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) National Convention in Davao City were treated to a view like no other: that of the stunning Mount Apo, complemented by the vibrant future of learning courtesy of Vibal.
Vibal Publishing House, Inc., the country`s leading publisher of educational materials for basic education, officially launched its Touch the Future of Learning campaign in time for the annual gathering of members of CEAP, a national network of Catholic educational institutions in the country. The event was held on September 21-23 in multiple venues across the home of the Kadayawan Festival.
The Touch the Future of Learning campaign seeks to reinforce Vibal`s lead in the production and marketing of quality educational products that aim to address the need for rich media content in the wake of the digital age.
It also strives to promote a healthy synergy between traditional and digital formats, developing materials with highly student-centered focus while keeping up with the changing attitudes of the modern Filipino youth.
Media-rich and interactive digital enrichments
In recent years, Vibal has been leading the way in the production of educational content on multiple digital platforms, including CD-ROMs, web-based modules, apps, and games, among other interactive digital enrichments, all while boosting its existing portfolio of pedagogical and instructional materials in the traditional print format.
These materials promote a healthy learning environment that challenges the creativity and imagination of learners while providing educators with more flexibility and less of the troubles associated with traditional teaching methods.
The annual convention coincided with the launch of the third edition of Vibal's bestselling We Celebrate God`s Love 1-6 and Our World in Math 1-6, which will now come with interactive CD-ROMs. The latest edition of New Trends in Math I-IV was similarly launched during the conference.
Vibal 21st Century Classroom
Moreover, this year`s national convention served as a springboard for a series of demos for the Vibal 21st Century Classroom.
The Vibal 21st Century Classroom is an interactive classroom and lesson management facility that provides both educators and students with innovative teaching and learning solutions, engaging students and strengthening interaction by fostering a discursive student-to-teacher, student-to-student, and student-to-learning tools association.
Vibal likewise set the standards for technology-aided education in the country as it introduced the pioneer line of enhanced digital textbooks for grade school and high school levels.
Designed to run on both Apple and Android devices, Vibal`s digital textbooks come with a slew of features that are meant to make learning more experiential and interactive for today's set of young digital natives.
Schools that intend to use Vibal’s suite of digital resources are given three options on how to best pursue this change. One of the options is for Vibal to bundle both print and digital editions of the textbooks with web support. Second, Vibal can have e-textbooks further enriched by the addition of folded-in multimedia content plus web support like online assessments. And lastly, Vibal can initiate differentiated instruction for schools looking to set up a customized one-to-one computer learning for their students.
Similarly, Vibal makes classroom management easier for educators through the Teaching & Learning System (TLS).
TLS allows teachers to present rich media content materials such as videos, slide shows, and audio materials, as well as give quizzes and exercises to students through their individual devices.
Evolving, customizable
Vibal's evolving range of products are easily customizable to fit the specific needs of its school partners.
The Vibal 21st Century Classroom comes in Starter and Premium Packages.
The Starter Package is designed for schools with limited technological infrastructure but are keen on embracing the new system. The package includes a portable interactive whiteboard, an LCD projector, and a netbook or a tablet PC for the teacher.
The Premium Package, on the other hand, is designed for schools that intend to provide each of their students with devices. The package contains the same hardware as the Starter Package but is supplemented by a teacher’s tablet, 40 tablets preloaded with e-textbooks for the students, and a one-to-one computing set-up in the classroom.
