Some 200 school administrators from private learning institutions across Metro Manila converged in the world-renown island of Boracay for a series of talks on the most pressing issues facing the basic education sector today.

Hosted by Vibal Publishing House, Inc., from February 10-12, 2012 as part of its Educational Service Program (ESP), the three-day Executive Seminar for Private School Administrators welcomed school officials at the La Carmela de Boracay to participate and share in the talks on 21st century learning, the implementation of the K-12 Basic Education Program in private schools, leadership EQ in education, and supplemental topics like de-stressing through laughter yoga.

Ms. Amy Galang, high school principal at La Salle Greenhills, delivered a talk on fostering instructional edge in the 21st century, while Mrs. Evelyn Angeles, former principal at Claret School of Quezon City and currently a consultant of Vibal Digital, provided tips and pointers on the use of 21st century tools for more effective teaching and learning.

Meanwhile, participants were oriented on the rudiments of the K-12 Basic Education Program implementation by Dr. Paraluman Giron, chairperson of the Department of Education's Technical Working Group on K-12 Curriculum. This was subsequently followed by discussions of Mr. Paolo Trinidad, founder of Laughter Yoga Philippines, on taking a break with laughter yoga, and Dr. Rodolfo “Dups” delos Reyes of Radelos Reyes Management Consultancy on the subject of leadership EQ in education.

Attended by school executives from the National Capital Region (NCR), the Boracay seminar was the last leg of the special sessions for Vibal Touch the Future of Learning seminars for school administrators. North and South Luzon school officials were flown in to Cebu for the session held at the Maribago Bluewaters Hotel last February 3-5.
