About the author:
Nati Santos is a retired Professor of Reading Education. She has written several children’s storybooks especially designed for “Shared Reading.” She graduated from the Philippine Normal College (now University) and Indiana University, U.S.A. She taught at the UP College at Education, first as a Grade School Teacher and later as Professor of Reading Education.
She was a recipient of the Silver Jubilee Achievement Award from the Reading Association of the Philippines for introducing shared reading and early reading intervention in the Philippines, and for having authored and published the first locally produced big book for very young children.
She was also a recipient of a UNESCO Grant on Early Reading Education in New Zealand and is a National Awardee as Outstanding Alumna of the Philippine Normal University. She was President of the Reading Association of the Philippines, and Secretary of PI Lambda Theta Philippines, an honor society of women leaders in education.
