About the Author:

Christine S. Bellen graduated from the University of the Philippines-Diliman in 1995 with a BA in Philippine Studies, major in Creative Writing and Art Studies. In 2003, she received an MA in Philippine Studies with majors in Philippine Literature and Art Studies.

Her MA.thesis was "Bisa ng Pantasya: Ang Imahinasyon sa Mga Kuwento ni Lola Basyang ni Severino Reyes," which was awarded a grant from the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Development at UP Diliman.

A faculty of the Ateneo de Manila University's Filipino Department, she is currently pursuing her doctorate in Phil Studies with majors in History, Anthropology and Literature in UP.
