This book is a full-scale biography of the Philippine national hero written by his grandniece Asuncion Lopez-Bantug. First published in 1982 by the Intramuros Administration with a preface written by National Artist for Literature and manuscript's editor Nick Joaquin, the book contains family lore and personal anecdotes of José Rizal that have been passed down through generations of the Rizal clan.

The book features an album containing more than three hundred of Rizal's photos, a complete bibliography of his visual, literary and political works and an illustrated timeline of his life. Also included is a genealogical chart documenting the hero's ancestors dating back to the seventeenth century as well as seven generations of descendants.
